We are looking for a highly innovative and experienced Head of UX and Design to lead our dynamic team and drive the design of our flagship TUI App, used by over 20m customers every year and serving 9 international markets.
The multi-award-winning TUI mobile app is backed by major growth investment and we are rapidly expanding the scale and scope of our UX function. In this role you’ll have the chance to shape and expand the team, in line with our business goals, setting direction for the function and driving its growth.

As the Head of UX and Design for the TUI App, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our user experience and design strategy. You will lead a large and diverse team of designers, researchers, and UX specialists, working closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver world-class digital experiences. This role offers international responsibilities, and you will have full control of the end-to-end design process, from concept to delivery.

**ABOUT THE JOB**
- Lead and manage a team of 15+ UX&UI designers, design leads and usability researchers located across our London, Portugal and Poland sites.
- Set the vision and design strategy for the TUI App, aligning it with the company’s overall goals and brand guidelines.
- Manage, coach and motivate a high performing design team that challenges the status quo and is constantly strives to evolve the app experience.
- As a member of the TUI App leadership team play a key role in setting the overall app 3-year strategy
- Engage Group CMO, CIO and CDO to present app design vision and gain buy in, funding and be comfortable flexing approach based on feedback wider business stakeholders.
- Ensure you direct design team reports have clear skills development pathways, based on their experience and aspirations.
- Proactively seek out customer pain points in the existing app landscape, or missed opportunities based on competitor and comparator apps, and utilise these to build the design roadmap for your team.
- Lead the design of key app features across marketing & merchandising, search, product bookflow, checkout, booking management, holiday service and customer account features within the TUI App
- Maintain a 12-18 month planning horizon and prioritisation for design activity.
- Collaborate with product, analytics and technology leadership teams to ensure seamless integration of design solutions, while balancing technical feasibility and user requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in different regions to adapt the app for international markets, considering cultural nuances and localization requirements.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in creating intuitive and visually appealing designs that enhance the user experience.
- Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and design thinking methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of mobile app design guidelines for both Android and iOS platforms.
- Extensive experience in the entire UX process, from research to design and implementation.
- Strategic thinker, able to see ahead for opportunities to positively impact our customers’ experience - while also understanding the detail to resolve problems.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels to tell the story of how the design achieves desired business outcomes.
- Experience managing, coaching and developing designers with different levels of experience to achieve potential.
