**Hours: 37 Per week (Full-time) Office Based**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plans and conducts research, building complex queries, reviewing inferences, crime pattern analysis and comparative case analysis in the development of information. Collates and summarises intelligence as appropriate for the audience either in verbal or written format, utilising corporate templates as required.
- Identifies intelligence gaps and opportunities to develop intelligence through research, evaluating the information, making recommendations on a varying scale of offences/complexities (NPT crime to SOC threats), based on the results of the research, and signposting to key stakeholders where necessary to assist in decision making at an operational level and in time critical circumstances i.e. Green Rooms scenarios. Produces briefing and intelligence documents as required by the post.
- Responds to requests for information, liaises with internal and external sources ensuring that all information exchanged is accurate and in line with legislation and policy. Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and partners in order to support collaborative working and information sharing.
- Provides research support to the analytical function, wider intelligence unit and to various teams within the Force, identifying emerging issues, both reactively and proactively, as well as potential suspects to key stakeholders, including the monitoring of current issues and trends.

**What the role requires**:

- Educated to level 4 standard and/or equivalent or possess equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Willing to undertake and successfully pass the Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) qualification (to complete within 12 months of appointment), and continued IPP compliance as directed by the College of Policing.
- Undertake and complete all required training relevant to the role.
- Experience of scanning and evaluating intelligence / information from open and closed sources and research various databases, providing a thorough collection plan to enabling the production of an accurate intelligence assessment
- Previous experience in a research environment interrogating multiple systems.
- Demonstrates the ability to use own initiative and judgement in the interpretation of issues, problems etc.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships.
- Well-developed communication skills to obtain relevant information and relay in a clear and concise manner.
