Sawman / Labourer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a **Sawman / Labourer**to join our team based in **Sheffield**. This is a full-time, permanent role and in return, you will receive a**competitive salary, plus benefits.**

**FVC**primarily serves the industrial gas turbine and aerospace industries, as well as markets with highly engineered component requirements. Using horizontal and vertical centrifugal castings, our skilled engineers create a vast range ofnear net shape products in more than 70 alloys, including high nickel alloys.

**About the role**:
As our **Sawman / Labourer**, you will work in our busy m/c shop, working a rotational pattern of days and nights, Monday to Thursday with the potential of overtime on Fridays. We are looking for an individual who has a good work ethic and iswilling to learn new skills.

**Principle Accountabilities of our Sawman / Labourer include**:

- Sawing feed heads, tubes, and test pieces to required dimensions on a variety of various saws
- Movement of castings to and from the machine shop
- Removal and segregation of scrap from machines
- Weighing and identifying of scrap prior to revert
- Reverting Storage
- Blasting of Product
- General Site Duties and Housekeeping
- Coolant management
- Working safely throughout all activities in line with FVC’s safety standards and procedures

**The successful Sawman / Labourer will be able to demonstrate the following**:

- Saw feed heads, tubes, and test pieces to required dimensions on a variety of various saws

**Desirable**:

- Basic H&S Cert
- Basic Environmental Cert/training
- Manual Handling experience
- Pendant Crane, Lifting & Slinging experience
- Experience of modern manufacturing techniques
