CHD Care at Home is part of CHD Living’s award-winning group of care services. We created our domiciliary care services to offer some peace of mind to the elderly living at home and their families. From visits once or twice a day to 24/7 at-home support, our home care team is dedicated to providing tailored services to those who need it most.

Home Care Support Workers are our ‘out in the field’ specialists. If you like the freedom of the road and dislike being stuck in one place then this could definitely be the job for you.

Although, those qualities are only one element of what we’re looking for - you’ll need to be a lovely ‘people person’ too, of course. Patience, kindness and sympathy are the name of the game for support workers. After all, the clue is in the name - with support being your foremost responsibility.

Those in your care will have diverse requirements, be that cognitive impairments, learning disabilities or physical disabilities, something that will ensure no day and indeed no visit will be the same.

A key part of the job is centred on helping people maintain their quality of life and independence, and you’ll need to have a real desire to try and support that - doing what you can to help the people in your care overcome any barriers preventing them from doing this.

Of course, an integral part of support is helping with the day-to-day care needs, so helping patients in and out of bed, washing and dressing, visiting the toilet, helping with eating is all part of it, as is administering medicine - but a lovely additional perk is that you get to help them do the things they enjoy too. So that could be games of Scrabble, popping to the shops, or even simply tidying the house. Who doesn’t enjoy a lovely clean house after all? It’s a really rewarding element of the job that all our Support Workers say they enjoy doing.

Another element of the service you may be asked to offer is to those who have just come out of hospital who need support to manage their day to day tasks again after a period of illness. They may also need your help to learn or relearn necessary skills.

Hours can be flexible depending on your availability and we work with you, to work out what’s the best fit for your given lifestyle.

Life on the road means you’ll need to be mobile so you must have a full clean driving licence. Whilst you’ll be on the road a lot of the time, you’ll also very much be part of the wider team.

And if you’re thinking you like the sound of the above, but might be underqualified - stop worrying right there We provide full training, so you just need to have a big heart, a warm smile and a willingness to help.

**What you will need**:

- A full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Excellent level of written and spoken English
- Right to work in the UK
- A reliable, patient, happy and caring attitude

**What we are offering**:

- £12.15 per hour

- Refer a friend scheme*
- Long service reward scheme
- Subsidised accommodation available
- Subsidised car available
- Paid mileage between care calls

Covid considerations: Full PPE is provided

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.15-£17.75 per hour

- Company pension
- Free parking
- Health & wellbeing programme
- On-site parking
