This role will predominately focus on supporting the delivery of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy, culture change and continuous HSE improvement across the site(s).
You will support the Site Senior Team (SLT), Operational Leadership Teams (OLT) HSE Business Partner in developing and delivering best in class Health and Safety solutions which builds a safety culture and ensures the Scottish sites are a safe place to work and visit.
You will provide competent advice at all levels to ensure the highest possible standard of Health, Safety and Environmental management is achieved in compliance with our HSE policies and to lead the development and implementation of the local HSE delivery plans.
Your main focus will be:

- To promote a HSE culture, encourage strong leadership through competency, worker engagement, behaviours etc.
- To develop and undertake external and internal HSE audits to ensure continual improvement across the site.
- To set priorities to prevent HSE incidents and reduce employer liability claims.
- To facilitate delivery of local strategic objectives and continued development of ongoing strategy.
- To ensure the highest levels of excellent HSE leadership by providing expert advice throughout the site(s) operations to ensure the effective management of all HSE requirements, maintaining compliance with all current statutory and legislative regulations.
- Assisting in the development, implementation and reviewing of the company’s HSE policies and procedures. Accountable for the coordination of the site training blue print in conjunction with HR to ensure training provisions are in place for the site teams and that HSE leadership improving HSE capability.
- Carrying out and reviewing technical Risk Assessments and maintaining risk register on site on a Plan Do Check Act basis. Management and reduction of risk within the business; inclusive of maintenance of the operating sites master risk register.
- Responsible for assisting site leaders and their teams in identifying areas where the prevention or reduction of incident rates or work-related ill health in conjunction with departmental heads, create and implement effective KPI’S to drive reduction of accident trends.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**

**Essential**
- Confident and assertive personality with a solution focused approach to Health and Safety.
- Member of an approved safety organisatiion
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification e.g. SVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude; ability to interface and influence people at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong facilitation, organisational and project management skills, Strong ability to prioritise workload and multi task coupled with an attention to detail.
- Good Microsoft Office skills (specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous Health & Safety & Environmental Experience gained within manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills, both written & verbal.
- Ability to learn and undertake new responsibility areas.
- Understanding of current and proposed HSE Legislation.
- Knowledge and Experience of ISO type management systems.
- Current Full Driving Licence.

**Desirable**
- Graduate Member of IOSH or working towards.
- Environmental qualification an advantage.
- Understanding of current and proposed environmental legislation.
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Lead auditor status
- Continuous Improvement qualification - Yellow Belt/Green Belt
