**JOB- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer**
**LOCATION- West Sussex**
**TERM- Permanent**
**SALARY- £30,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience**
My client designs and manufactures a range of products and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the West Sussex area.
**The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes**:

- Degree BSc / BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar (HNC/ HND / NVQ may also be considered)
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software
- ideally Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD / iLogic but other programmes might also be considered
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience, working on designs for manufacture
- Ideally have some experience supervising others and leading teams
- Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
- Any previous experience of working with steel / metal materials would be desirable
- Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office

**The Senior Mechanical Designer Engineer role will involve**:

- Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
- Managing a small team of Designers
- Being involved in recruitment / expanding the team
- Seeing through design projects from concept through to completion
- Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
- Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs
- Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
