The purpose of the role is to provide a full time Foundation Learning Study Programme within the SEN area at the College by:

- Developing schemes of work to support learning and assessment activities to support our high-quality SEN (high proportion of ASD needs) provision whilst also ensuring timely and successful completion of all work delivered.
- Delivering high quality learning and assessment activities which meet the needs and interests of SEN (high proportion of ASD needs) learners and support their learning and development towards progress into Further Education, apprenticeships and / or employment with training.
- Delivering curriculum and activities which are personalised and support development against outcome targets in education, health and care plans for these learner cohorts.

**KEY ROLES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- To develop innovative learning and assessment activities and provide quality teaching to meet the needs of learners in this area of the college at its Worcester campus.
- Act as tutor to a group or groups of learners and provide pastoral care.
- Negotiate appropriate Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) including Pro Monitor.
- Conduct regular progress reviews including regular review of progress towards outcome targets within the education, health and care plan.
- To have regular communication with parents/carers as appropriate to ensure progress of individual learners is shared and actions are taken to promote further developments.
- To identify and propose development actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of provision.
- To implement evaluation systems to capture learner feedback.
- To liaise with internal and external agencies, to ensure effective and efficient recruitment, retention and achievement of learners.
- To interview and conduct initial assessment of learners using locally and nationally devised assessment systems.
- To deliver, support delivery and develop appropriate and relevant induction/exit and transition strategies and learning to learners to promote positive progressions including Health and Safety.
- To provide guidance, advice and support for learners, tailored to individual need.
- To work within the whole College quality policy framework to ensure the effective operational management of the curriculum, at course team level, exists and supports the Head of Inclusive Learning /CRQ Leader SEN in achieving successful learner outcomes.
- To ensure learners are enrolled on the right course at the right level.
- Ensuring that quality assurance and self-assessment including assessments of delivery is informed by observation evidence, learner and course performance data; and information derived from obtaining the views of learners and external partners.
- Operating within the procedures of quality assurance and self-assessment to rigorously conduct course review in order to lead to improved outcomes for learners and for meeting targets.
- To contribute to responsible risk management including risk assessment, health and safety and welfare/safeguarding management in the area.
- To liaise with MIS to ensure all relevant data reporting is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Contribute to the implementation of quality improvement strategies.
- Sharing good practice and reviewing the progress of the courses / programmes.
- To carry out marketing and promotional activities.
- To attend meetings and conferences as appropriate.

**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- To participate in the College’s Performance Management Scheme and attend such training events as are necessary to enable him/her to carry out the duties of the job description.
- To continually improve teaching, learning and assessment through proactive CPD and sharing best practice.
- To actively participate in the College’s Quality System, including quality improvement strategies and initiatives.
- To undertake such other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.
- To take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/her and for others affected by his/her work.
- To actively support College Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity policies.
- To operate/conduct all HR tasks and functions within the principles of GDPR.
