**Job Details**

This is an exciting new role to our team to support the work of our childcare practitioners and senior childcare practitioners who work with children and young from 4 to 18 years of age with a wide range of complex and profound additional support needs.

This new role is focused on supporting the staff team to provide high quality care and support to effectively meet the needs of the children and young people. This will include but is not limited to supporting:

- The planning, preparation and engagement within a wide range of social and play based activities including trips and outings
- Effective intimate and personal care
- Safe and effective administration of medication
- The preparation and delivery of snacks and meals
- Children to communicate using a wide range of methods.

Working within our services with children and young people is very rewarding but is varied due to the needs of the children and young people.

**The Person**

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience of working with children and young people aged 4 to 18 years
- Is keen to work towards a formal qualification to enable progression through the service.
- Is fun, engaging, adaptable and passionate about working with children and young people with additional support needs.

You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.

**You will save money on your SSSC fees as these will now be paid for all roles and grades by the Scottish Government.**

**Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.**
