We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Hams Hall team in the position of Wire Maker / Operator.
The role holder will be responsible for the manufacture of the Aircrete product range by operation of section plant and equipment ensuring the appropriate Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards are met.

You would also work closely with the day shift colleagues, shift managers and production, safety coordinator and production manager to ensure the sites targets and objectives are achieved, with particular reference to providing good quality wires to the business specification and stock control.

Your duties would include but not limited to the following;
- Perform weekly / month end material stock check and utility readings.
- Calculate and order raw materials each week to maintain production.
- Delivery tickets collected daily and forwarded to Admin.
- Daily silo stocks taken and issued.
- Liaise with suppliers when required.
- Receive and check materials are discharged into the correct silos.
- Raw material reception area housekeeping standards maintained.
- Upper mixer tower housekeeping standards maintained.
- Maintain a suitable stock of wires to maintain production.
- Collect used wires from the cutting line and recycle the clips.
- Daily LEV checks.
- Weekly oil storage checks.
- Support WFE shovel driver when required.
- Support production team when required.
- Effective communication skills.
- A good basic understanding of health & Safety is essential.
- To comply with all aspects of the Forterra Compliance Policy.
- To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place.
- To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.
- To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required.
- To comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company.
