**Location: Birmingham**
**Salary: £45,000 DOE**
**Overview**:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Estimator on behalf of one of our clients.
To oversee the day to day estimating duties.
**Duties and Responsibilities for the Senior Estimator**:

- Ensure quotations are issued accurately and on time for all branches.
- To manage, guide and assist subordinates.
- Raise queries with information received with the relevant parties effectively and efficiently.
- Make sure all offers comply with Health & Safety Regulations.
- To ensure all specifications submitted are compatible with the works required.
- Provide contract documentation to our branches upon receipt of order and to make sure all necessary credit checks have been completed prior to this.
- Update and maintain pipeline system.
- Compile Marks & Spencer reports when needed.
- Assist relevant contracts staff with “project programmes” when needed.
- Attend sites as and when required in order to take measurements or training etc.
- Produce re-measure spreadsheets based on dimensions obtained from site.
- Attend Health & Safety quarterly meetings.
- Prepare Tenders/offers in accordance with all our procedures as set out on estimating information sheets and by required return date.
- To prepare tenders/offers from architect’s drawings and/or site visits and detailed specifications provided by client.
- To estimate the type and amount of materials necessary to deliver the contract against the agreed specifications.
- To estimate the cost of plant, equipment and overheads.
- To estimate the cost of access, hoisting and protection with due regard to Health & Safety risks.
- To establish the likely progress and completion rates, including allowances for bad weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
- To liaise with Contracts Manager/Supervisor, by handover meeting, on receipt of order, to communicate pricing information of the tender.
- To maintain good communications with our suppliers to make sure all our material requests are met on time and to provide forecasts so as no unexpected delays occur.

**Skills and Qualifications for the Senior Estimator**:

- Must have extensive experience as Roofing Estimator.
- Sites measures and drawing take offs.
- Specifications and technical knowledge.
- Product knowledge.
- Thorough knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation.
- Contractual awareness i.e. CDM.
- Estimating experience.
- Computer estimating programme experience.
