**About Cornwall Mind**

Cornwall Mind was formed by the merger of two smaller Mind organisations in 2020. We are an **independent **CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) responsible for its own income generation and governance. We are aligned with the vision and values of National Mind set out above as part of the Mind Federation.

**We provide opportunities for recovery from mental ill-health and maintaining wellbeing for the People of Cornwall.**

**Cornwall Mind is funded through diverse means including**:

- Community events and fundraising
- Donations

**MAIN PURPOSE**
- Raise funds from a range of sources across Cornwall.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers and groups.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**About the Role**

This dynamic role is a vital part of our drive to diversify our income and to have an increased focus on unrestricted income (income we can spend in any way that meets with our objectives).

This would typically include:

- Developing and delivering community events.
- Stewarding members of the public to support their own fundraising endeavours
- Digital initiatives such as online auctions etc.

The right person for this role will have a proven track record in Community Fundraising for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations as well a passion for improving the lives of people and the communities in which they live. They will bring with them innovative ideas for raising both revenue and public profile for Cornwall Mind. They will have a love for connecting with others and people will be drawn to their passion for the cause.

You will have fundraising targets and will agree these with the Income Generation Manager alongside accountability for developing and implementing a Community Fundraising Plan.

You will be a valuable asset in the exciting development of a high profile, quality driven mental health organisation and the work you do will mean that more people are supported to overcome their mental health challenges.

National Mind provide a wealth of support and experience to help you in this role including peer support through a Community of Practice that connects you with others in similar roles across England and Wales and access to advice and guidance from the National Fundraising Team.

You will be part of a dedicated, passionate and supportive team and receive 28 days (pro rata) annual leave plus bank holidays, sick pay (on completion of any probationary period), a pension contribution and flexible working.

**Accountabilities**

Reports to: Income Generation Manager

Strategy and planning
- Work closely with the Income Generation Manager and Chief Executive to support the implementation of the fundraising strategy.
- Devise, implement and evaluate an annual fundraising plan with the support of the Income Generation Manager.
- Plan and deliver effective, exciting and appropriate fundraising activities.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of key awareness events such as World Mental Health Day and Time To Talk Day.

**Fundraising**
- Achieve fundraising targets as agreed with the Income Generation Manager.
- Deliver a range of fundraising events and activities across Cornwall and IOS.
- Identify new fundraising opportunities and supporting external fundraising efforts.
- Support national fundraising and other national initiatives, in conjunction with the National Mind Fundraising Team.
- Attend fundraising and other events as required, potentially in a wide range of locations requiring travel. This may involve some weekend and evening work.
- Identify and follow up opportunities to secure non-cash or in-kind support, e.g. volunteering, pro bono support, donations of equipment.
- Develop and nurture relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise.
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support local fundraising.
- Develop and nurture relationships with potential funders and community groups.
- Act as an ambassador for fundraising in the region and build awareness of the benefits of fundraising for Cornwall Mind and the people we help.
- Ensure the health and safety of participants and volunteers at Cornwall Mind fundraising events and activities.
- Monitor, evaluate and identify learning points from each area of activity.

**Administration.**
- Keep accurate records of fundraising activities and money raised and producing reports as required.
- Acknowledge donations appropriately.
