Interim Accountant

Think Accountancy and Finance are pleased to be working with a client who are on the look out for an experienced Accountant (ideally qualified) with experience in the Public Sector for a 9 month contract.

The role will be hybrid with 2 or 3 days a week in the office which is based on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead.

The purpose of the contract it to assure business as usual in the production of management accounts and the operation payroll. You need to be solution focused with an approachable vision and accountable presence.The position will be accountable for the finacialcompliance, for the year end accounts, management accountsm VAT reporting and oversight of payroll and pensions.

Main duties:

- Oversee slaries and pensions processing
- Complete pension year end returns - NHS, Standard Life and NEST
- P11ds
- Support system migration to the cloud
- Update Financial Procedures handbook
- Work with the FP&A Manager to support their project work
- Maintain weekly cashflow forecast
- Fixed Assets
- Work with external payroll bureau
- Support the Audit
- VAT Returns
- Management Accounts and Cashflow forecasting
- Treasury

They need someone who has public sector experience, inparticular if you have worked in charity this will be highly desirable. You need to have experience in managing the audit process and year end timetables, maintaining good and productive relatiobshipswith auditors. Experience of upgrading accounting systems will be required for this role.

As this is a contract you will be need to be immediately available or available on short notice.
