To support our continued growth, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our experienced team in our modern purpose-built distribution centre at Park Springs, Grimethorpe, Barnsley.

The Procurement Assistant will support the Procurement Manager in tenders, contract management, product sourcing and supplier negotiations. You must be confident in negotiations with vendors and suppliers to improve supply terms and expedite goods, building positive relationships with them. Furthermore, as a Procurement Administrator, it is essential to maintain records of all transactions, producing progress reports regularly for a smooth and efficient workflow. Utilise the MRP functionality of the ERP system to ensure that demand is forecast out accurately to raise them with suppliers to support future inbound demand.

Some responsibilities are:

- Sourcing of new product ranges (NPR’s) through both existing and prospective suppliers
- Cost Price negotiations with suppliers along with sample quality checks
- Identify areas in the product portfolio which need further development, change or rationalisation
- Pro-actively benchmarking prices with suppliers & competitors to remain competitive
- Help achieve cost savings where possible without impeding continuity of supply
- Help analyse price changes from suppliers and cost impact analysis
- General housekeeping of variant code changes and amendments (specifications)
- General housekeeping of the company MSDS data sheets. (revision updates)
- Build, develop & maintain supplier relationships
- Review supplier spend analysis (monthly)
- Appraisal of new supplier approaches to determine if they are of interest
- Help with code supersession and discontinued lines
- Working with online teams to develop our B2C offering and increasing profitability
- Review key supplier performance and address where appropriate
- Would need to be comfortable on excel
- Would need to be comfortable in supplier meetings if ever needed
- Needs to work in collaboration with other departments

**Salary**: Up to £24,000.00 per year
