Metallurgy Technician

**Opportunity for a metallurgy technician, or laboratory technician to join one of the UK top metals companies as a casting technician.**

The business currently has three sites within the UK and are striving to build the world's best-equipped laboratory for the rapid development of engineering components.

As the casting technician (metallurgy technician/laboratory technician), you will be responsible for helping to produce alloys by casting and will also be involved in other areas of the laboratory where alloys are processed, tested, and characterised. Detailedresponsibilities are: -- Ordering and preparing raw materials
- Operating and maintaining melting and casting equipment
- Analysing chemical composition using spark-OES technique
- Collaborating with engineers and technicians, scheduling and performing work accordingly
- Supporting the development of efficient work procedures
- Maintaining good health and safety practices
- Supporting the development of efficient work procedures
- Experience working in a metals-based laboratory or production facility
- Knowledge of casting/liquid metals, or a metallurgy/materials science qualification would be an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

**In return, the casting technician (metallurgy technician/laboratory technician) will receive a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + company pension, private healthcare, employee share option scheme, cycle to workscheme, a wellbeing benefits package, and 25 days holidays (excluding bank holidays).
