**Teaching Assistant - Crawley area, West Sussex - Full-time - Start ASAP - Notice Periods Considered. 8:30 - 3:30 Monday to Friday, Term Time. £76 per day minimum.**

This is a permanent role which follows a 12-week temporary probation. The school are looking TAs that share that permanent view of the role.

Join the team as a Teaching Assistant at our special education school for children and young adults between the ages of 11 and 19 with a wide range of learning difficulties and other complex needs. Our school's core purpose is to meet the individual needs of every one of our students. We work to help them grow and achieve their full potential and to prepare them to confidently and successfully move out into the community when they finally have to leave us.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students in their academic, social and emotional development. You will be part of a team that not only gives them a fantastic educational experience but also challenges them to achieve as much as they possibly can. All of the students have strengths and talents which must be nurtured and developed, and difficulties which must be addressed and overcome.

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the team. You should have experience working with children with special educational needs and have a sound understanding of the principles of effective teaching and learning. You should be a good communicator, able to work collaboratively with other members of staff and able to build positive relationships with students and their families.

Key responsibilities:

- Supporting pupils in their learning and development
- Providing one-to-one or small group support as directed by the class teacher
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of lessons
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and behaviour
- Supporting pupils with their personal care needs
- Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents/guardians
- Encouraging and motivating pupils to reach their full potential
- Participating in training sessions and staff meetings as required

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive and proactive attitude
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
