You will work closely with the Imaging Senior Management Team, - and you will be supported with continuous development and education to not only deliver the department strategy but also to achieve your career aspirations.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The post holder will have accountability for the safe and effective provision of the ultrasound imaging services for UHB at QEHB.
The post holder will provide strategic direction and leadership, operational management, delivering high quality clinical care. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries with a wide range of stakeholder groups throughout UHB, including our other sites and the wider communities.
They will be a behavioural and professional role model for the provision of compassionate care within the Ultrasound Imaging Services here at QEHB. This role is predominantly a managerial role with some clinical commitment. Budget holder for the modality at QEHB
Responsible for all physical resources of the modality. Ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions (SFI) and Patient Charter as a Foundation Trust.
Manage, with the Imaging Modality Lead (IMM) the annual prioritisation of capital equipment replacement with development of technical specifications and supplier quotations.
To identify and implement cost improvement programmes for the department.
Authorise payments for overtime, travel, subsistence and telephone expenses.
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost effective business agreements.
Ensure a robust system of departmental stock management and completion of all stock-taking audits
Provide highly visible and accessible professional leadership and demonstrate expert knowledge and standards of clinical practice.
