As a newly appointed Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you'll receive in-depth, accredited training to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner.

Working in partnership with the Police, you'll provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency, to acute medical episodes. You will also be fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assistthe Police with their investigations.

The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of 2-day shifts, 2-night shifts then 4 days off (working hours are 7am-7pm, and 7pm to 7am).

**Main duties of the role include**:

- Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods).
- Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
- Delivering substance misuse therapies
- Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
- Acute disease management.
- Promoting good personal healthcare
- Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

**Essential Skills** This is an exciting alternative career option open to registered general/adult Nurses and qualified Paramedics with a minimum of 3+ years' post qualification experience within an acute medical setting.

Please note, as this role involves working within Police facilities, it is a requirement for all allied staff to go through and successfully complete Police vetting checks, DBS checks and receive 2 satisfactory references. In order for the Police to completetheir checks, the individual being vetted would need to have lived in the U.K. for at least a 3-year continuous period (over the last that 3 years).
