Apprentice Butcher

A Butchery Apprenticeship with our business will include onsite training from Scottish Meat Training resulting in SVQ Level 3 Scottish Craft Butchery qualification.

You will work closely with three qualified butchers in our modern butchery facility. You will cover all aspects of butchering and food environment practices and procedures. As an apprentice this will begin with basic butchery and food hygiene tasks which depending on the aptitude of the applicant will increase in skill and demand level, to craft knife skills, carcasse breakdown, meat product preparation which would also include assistance with charcuterie and salami making.

We are an on-farm craft organic butchery serving a UK-wide customer base including online, restaurants, hotels, delis and farmers markets.

You will need to be fully numerate and English-literate.

The hourly rate of pay is dependent on age.

£5.28 per hour if you're under 19; £7.49 per hour as you advance into your second year if you're aged 19 or 20; £10.18 per hour if you fall into the 21-22 age bracket, or the National Living Wage (NLW) of £10.42 if you're 23 and over.
