**Head of UK Operations**

**Overview**:
As Head of Operations you will oversee the operational activities of the business and ensure that the workforce is productive. Improving efficiencies and increasing output whilst supporting the commercial team in reaching sales targets and identifying opportunities.

Purchasing stock to ensure correct stock levels are held centrally in order to fulfil customer demand across the UK.

Having a forward thinking approach with the ability to plan ahead to ensure operations do not compromise the continued success of the business.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Direct management for operations team; comprising of sales administrators,

Warehouse and Trade Counter
- Responsibility for the performance and training of the operations team
- Oversee the day to day warehouse, customer service and distribution activity of the site
- Identifying efficiencies and implementing new processes
- Challenge working practices to raise standards and expectations to meet the increasing future demand
- Maintaining stock accuracy, co-ordinating regular stock take
- Stock ordering for all UK operations, supporting sales targets being reached for the group
- Liaising with Spanish colleagues at the factory and Head Office, with the ability to travel to Spain when required
- Maintaining collaborative working between operations and commercial team
- Working closely as a key part of the Senior Management Team on strategic planning
- Reporting to Director on stock levels, orders distributed/future orders, profit margins
- Maximising Trade Counter sales
- Health and safety of business/premises
- Building Maintenance

**Essential Skills / Experience**:

- Proven track record in delivering strategy and leading a business through its implementation
- Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to multi-tasks whilst remaining calm under pressure
- Able to act and make decision in high pressured moments
- Operational people management experience
- Achieving sales targets and maximising opportunities
- Previous experience setting and managing budgets
- Warehouse management experience, including logistics and Health and Safety
- Experience in setting KPI’s and managing performance
- Experience in a customer facing role with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Proficient in using Excel, including use of formulas
- Excellent negotiation skills to improve margins
- Proven track record in reducing operating costs

**Desirable Skills / Experience**:

- Previous experience working in manufacturing industry
- Health and Safety qualification
- Experience working with Oracle
- Experience of import / exporting of stock
- UK driving licence
- Able to converse in Spanish, or a willing to learn Spanish

**Working arrangement**: Office based role, Havant

**Working Hours**:Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with 1 hour for lunch
