The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary ward team working on Leverington Ward. They will be the first point of contact for visitors, patients and other staff of all disciplines and will provide a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the departmental team in delivering a high quality service to patients.

The post holder will act as liaison between the clinical team, the patient’s family, friends etc and other third parties such as police, social services and clinical staff in other trusts. The post holder will predominantly be using NHS IT systems, including patient centre.

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to work on Leverington Ward

Leverington Ward is a busy 32 bedded medical ward.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors, patients and other staff, providing a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the departmental team in delivering a high quality service to patients.

Your duties will include but not exclusive to - booking patients into the ward, updating case notes, handling documentation, managing discharges, making appointments and arranging transport.

Good IT skills are essential to this role as you will predominantly be using NHS IT systems, including Patient Centre systems on a daily basis.

You should be highly motivated, flexible, with attention to detail.

Working pattern to be agreed, principle hours will be 8-5 or 9-6, 4 days per week. The post will require weekend working on a pattern.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.

We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network.

In February 2022 the significant progress that has been made at QEH was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all of the core services they inspected. They recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
