Assessment of patients of all ages attending the Emergency Department, SDEC.Planning and delivery of nursing care that reflects current patient care needs.Evaluation of care in collaboration with patient / carers and multidisciplinary team. Involved in the care of trauma patients and resuscitation of critically unwell patients. Accurate documentation of nursing care delivered.Be a safe practitioner aware of own limitations and reporting any areas of concern to a more senior nurse. Work effectively as part of a team.

Awareness of and co-operating in maintaining Accident and Emergency health care targets in the best interest of the patient. Participate in teaching / training of more junior staff. Follow policy and procedure accurately for Safeguarding both children and adults.Ongoing development of skills and knowledge to become a competent Emergency Department nurse.To use electronic systems e.g. Symphony safely and as per departmental policy.

To appropriately escalate when care standard is thought to be below par. To participate in ED specific training e.g. decontamination training. To act within the medicines management trust policy.

To become competent in working in all aspects of the department including resuscitation, majors and minors and triage.
