Forward-thinking investment company is seeking a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis.

The Lead Platform Cloud Engineer will contribute to creating, defining and directing the new Cloud team intended to be right at the spearhead of cloud adoption and innovation within the business. The team will be focused on the foundations of the cloud platformin Azure to support product, project and operational delivery through engineering, providing cross platform capability and driving cloud adoption.

The role will involve:

- Overall Technical / Engineering Leadership for Cloud within the business.
- Accountability for the engineering that underpins agreed Cloud Strategy and direction.
- Liaising with Group Technology Strategy to inform cloud strategy, architectures and roadmaps.
- Engagement early with cloud and digital development projects providing definition, ideation and engineering support.
- Performing reviews against Well Architected Frameworks for proposed architectures and designs and regular assessments of deployed architectures against frameworks.

To be successful in the role you will have most of the following:

- Experienced in the use of cloud technologies, preferably in a Financial Services organisation.
- Azure (required) / Amazon Web Services (desirable).
- Infrastructure as a Service - virtualisation, containerisation, storage.
- Cloud policy definition and management.
- Cloud networking - V-NET Peering, Private Networking, Load Balancing, Layer 3 and 7 Firewalls, Network Security Groups.

The role can be performed mainly remotely with just a couple of visits a month to the office in Edinburgh, London or Warwickshire.
