We are currently looking for a **Vehicle Builder** to perform defined tasks to written instructions and to be able to work to their own initiative to enable the Depot to provide a quality service to the business.
This role requires an ability to work in both core and non-core trades.

**Key tasks will include but not limited to**:

- To remove, modify, refit vehicle interiors.
- Competent to use sharp tools, chisels, saws, planes.
- Competent to use mechanical machines; hand saw, bench saw.
- Competent to use handtools, electric pump screwdriver, spanners and torque wrenches, portable circular saws.
- Competent to strip and rebuild vehicle interiors, luggage racks, seat frames, buffet cars.
- Personally make health and safety a priority ensuring you comply with all health and safety instructions.
- Plan individual work to minimise waste of raw materials.
- To read and assess production information for required specification details; working in an organised manner to ensure the task is completed efficiently, to the correct standard and within the necessary time frame.
- To carry out basic quality control checks.
- Apprenticeship in Vehicle Building with supporting industry recognised ITB certificate along with City and Guilds 3850 certificate showing evidence of academic theory of trade.
- Equivalent qualification - NVQ level 3 in trade along with CVA certificate to support.
- Technical knowledge and experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of door systems.
- Physical capability to lift heavy doors and operate power tools and equipment.
- Rolling Stock/ Coach building experience preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues with doors and systems.
- Able to work under pressure paying strict attention to detail.
- Passionate, enthusiastic and a can-do attitude.
- Able to work on own or as part of a team.
