Test Technician

Our client, an electronics manufacturing business, seek to appoint a Test Technician to inspect and potentially re-work PCB boards as part of a thorough test strategy. This Test Technician role will suit somebody who has a background in PCB assembly, orthrough hole/surface mount assembly, and is confident in testing and fault finding to get at the root cause of any potential faults and then potentially re-working boards to repair them if required.

- Test mixed signal design (but mostly digital) PCBs to find root cause of faults
- Repair boards using variety of techniques
- Fault finding can be done with a scope, DVM and test cables, but if other test devices are known this is advantageous
Test Technician - Skills and Abilities - Printed Circuit Board / Surface Mount / Through Hole / Soldering / PCB
- Strong abilities and experience in PIC based systems
- Familiarity of COMx Express connectivity
- Good familiarity with typical PC busses such as Serial, USB, 10/100/1000 LAN, LVDS video, SATA, PCIe
- Good utilitarian knowledge of Windows i.e. how to set and reallocate serial ports, to run test diagnostics on devices, use apps to send/receive test data on ports, etc.
- Can solder neatly and confidently surface mount components 0603, 0804, SO-8 etc, but large pin count or fine pitch components can be sent out for rework.
