Arbour House School is an independent SEN school with split sites - Lower and Upper, based in Weymouth and Dorchester for young people aged 6-18 with complex social, communication and learning needs.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Provide effective leadership of our Lower School site alongside the Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher.
- Play an active part in the development of the Lower School leadership team and participate in the creation and delivery of objectives set through the School Development Plan.
- Ensure the education and welfare of Lower School pupils, having due regard to the school’s ethos, aims, objectives and policies.
- Share in the corporate responsibility for the wellbeing and pastoral care of all pupils throughout the school.
- Deputise as necessary for the Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher in their absence.

**Who you are**:

- Qualified and experienced Primary teacher.
- Qualified to degree level.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Evidence of recent and relevant professional development.
- Additional relevant qualification in the field of SEND desirable but not essential.
- A proven track record of recent and successful teaching of children with learning disabilities and complex needs, including autism and behaviours that challenge.
- Evidence of the ability to lead, manage, motivate and enthuse teachers and support staff within a team context.
