Communications Manager

A leading international school are seeking a Communications Manager to join their Community Engagement team.
Reporting to the Admissions Director, the role is responsible for the effective delivery, oversight and management of the school’s communications, including responsibility for daily and weekly messaging; managing and generating copy for the website, socialmedia, the school App, and PR materials; and supporting staff communications with the community.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering mission-driven communications.
- Generating communications copy (letters, blogs, articles, messages, photography).
- Collaborating with the CET to ensure that the School’s message is mission-driven, strategically aligned, focused, and supportive of effective community engagement.
- The effective collection and use of data to inform discussion and communications’ decisions.
- Developing communication tools to deliver the School’s Value Propositions/USP.
- Collaborating with the CET to develop, implement and deliver the school’s operational goals, aligned to the School’s mission, strategic targets and charitable status.
- Contributing to an integrated marketing and communications strategy.
- Managing and generating copy to support the website, the school app, their social media platforms, and external news platforms (including intentional PR) and that this copy is approved by the CET Team.
- Liaising with the Learning Systems Coordinator to ensure all social media output is proofed and appropriate.
- Generating copy for, edit, prepare and deliver, the Newsletter, as approved by Admissions Director.
- Liaising with the Director to ensure all newsletters and other major media output is proofed and appropriate.
- Preparing and delivering daily messaging, ensuring essential day-to-day information is shared effectively and appropriately.
- Attending, recording, and communicating representative classes, field trips, class and whole school events and all major external school events.
- Ensuring appropriate data protection and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and School policies.
- Supporting the Director and SLT, when required, in communicating information to the community or in any public-facing capacity.
Qualifications & abilities:
- Education to BA level.
- Digital communications expertise, including providing written copy and photography for social media and website.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to deliver varied copy.
- Innovative, in communications presentation, design and delivery.
- Able to manage projects individually or within a group setting.
- Awareness of communicating with people of other cultures and non-native English speakers.
- Highly motivated in general - a self-starter.
- Extremely organised and able to keep to deadlines.
- Creative, resourceful thinker.
- Strong communicator with flexible interpersonal skills.
- Highly competent digital skills.
- Collaborative team player.
Additional experience in the field of Marketing, Communications, Development, Creative Arts and Media, and/or Education would be welcome.
