**Job Purpose:
To provide support for a 14-year-old boy with a diagnosis of Four-limb Cerebral Palsy.
- Main Duties
- We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable the child to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community. The child is unable to communicate verbally and uses an eye gazer/VOCA but also knows some Makaton. He is reliant upon a PEG for his nutritional intake, full training will be provided, and will require support with personal care. He uses a wheelchair to get around and is a very sociable young boy who loves to be out and about, enjoying the atmosphere and life around him.
Hours
4 hours per week.
Rate of pay
£11.91 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer.
- Person Specification
Successful applicant must:
- have experience of working with children who have complex needs.
- have a positive understanding and genuine interest in supporting children within their communities.
- have a high degree of initiative.
- be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised.
- be flexible.
- have a happy, positive and caring nature.
- respect confidentiality.
Car driver essential and must have business insurance.
AN ENHANCED DBS CHECK IS REQUIRED - COST TO BE MET BY EMPLOYER.
