**Our Team**

Big Data Technical Log lake team manages Customer UK’s monitoring, alerting & visibility solution based on Big Data technologies. The Team is responsible for creating data ingestion pipelines, visualisations, data store and alerting on the data. It alsodoes the installation, upgrades, maintenance of the Big Data Clusters. The team provides 24x7x365 support service to Customer (UK) for the platform and makes sure it is highly available 24x7.

**The Opportunity
**Data Engineer would work within a team of highly skilled technical experts who support key business requirements for the bank using cutting edge technologies in Elasticsearch/Big Data Technology Stack.
The role will provide a range of functions including, but not limited to: Elasticsearch administration and data engineering.

**What we’re looking for**
- 10+ years of IT experience with minimum of 8 years in distributed storage and computing environment.
- Minimum 2+ years of cloud exposure, preferably AWS (Desirable)
- Significant proven experience working with Elasticsearch stack and administration.
- Extensive knowledge on Ansible and shell scripting. (Desirable)
- Proven experience in designing and delivering E2E data driven use cases.
- Proven experience of mentoring and leading engineering teams.
- Recent strong experience with Elasticsearch and Kafka. (Minimum 5 Years)
- Experience in designing data structures using Elasticsearch indices.
- Good understanding on Visualisation components and techniques in Elasticsearch.
- Proven experience in performance management and tuning of Elasticsearch environment.
- Strong experience in writing data ingestion pipelines using Logstash and other big data technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of Java, python or other functional programming language.
- Good understanding of DevOps methodology using CI/CD pipelines. (Desirable)
- Analytical thinking and strong communication skills.
- An excellent self-learner with enthusiasm to explore new features and implementing solutions using them.
- Demonstrated experience delivering quality-product software.
- Experience working in an agile/SCRUM environment.
