**Job Summary**

**Main purpose**

To ensure the supervision, safeguarding, security, safety and good conduct of pupils during the lunch break.

**Main Duties**

We are looking for capable, confident and energetic lunchtime supervisors to:

- Supervise pupils during lunch time hours, from 11:35am - 1:35pm per day, term time Mon-Fri, across the external school areas, and playgrounds;
- Maintaining good order and discipline among pupils and safeguarding their health and safety;
- Encouraging children to play, and helping with play activities, if required;
- Making sure that children do not leave the school premises, or go into areas of the school that are out of bounds;
- Dealing with incidents of misbehaviour, listening to pupils, being vigilant and raising concerns about individuals, reporting them accordingly, as they arise, and documenting behaviour;
- Tend to sick or injured pupils and recording any accidents in the Accident Book; liaising with teaching staff and the school office re. sick or injured children. All head injuries to be recorded and reported to the office as appropriate;
- Dealing with emergency situations, such as fire drills;
- Knowing the school regulations and health and safety policy; being aware of and implementing, the school rules and school policies, in particular safeguarding of children;
- Co-operate with the employer in all matters concerning Health and Safety and specifically to take reasonable care of their own Health and Safety, and that of any other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work;
- To undertake other such specific duties that may from time to time be reasonably assigned by senior leadership;
- To attend meetings and courses connected to the post.

- Willing to work outdoors in all weathers;
- Ability to understand and comply with work instructions (written and verbal);
- Methodical approach to supervising and organising.

**Experience & Qualifications**
- Have a minimum of 3 months’ experience working with children, ideally in a school setting;
- Have good organisation and communication skills;
- Have the ability to build strong professional relationships with both staff and pupils;
- Be able to supply a reference to support experience and abilities;
- Be willing to undergo a DBS check;
- Have a positive and flexible approach is essential, with the ability to demonstrate using own initiate to build good relationships with pupils to encourage positive behaviour.

**Reports to**

The Assistant Head, Pastoral, and Designated Safeguarding Lead.

**Pay**

**£12** **p/hour**

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
