Medicines Strategy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and innovative individual to join the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board Medicines Optimisation Team to lead on business intelligence and data analytics.

The Medicines Optimisation Team aims to deliver safe, high quality, effective, innovative and best value medicines use to enable the best possible health outcomes for the local population. Through data analytics the post holder will promote and support effective use of data to enable equitable access to medicines to reduce variation in health outcomes, and to improve health gains, quality of care for patients, and patient experience within available resources. This will also be achieved through the development and implementation of the Medicines Optimisation strategy, which will support prescribers and healthcare providers improve health outcomes and empower patients to obtain maximum benefit from their medicines.

The Business Intelligence Lead will be responsible for developing and producing detailed and highly complex system wide information and analysis to support the safe, effective and cost-effective use of medicines. The role will involve the development of transparent prescribing and performance dashboards and provision of information and prescribing data to support medicines efficiency programmes, national prescribing priorities, Prescribing Quality Incentive Schemes and safety metrics.
