Are you a well organised, self - motivated individual who enjoys working with children and young people? We are looking for a support worker to join our Speech and Language Therapy team in East Fife.

A proportion of your responsibilities will be direct clinical work with pre-school and school age children, working under the supervision of the Speech and Language Therapists. This work will involve contact with parents/carers and education staff in local schools/nurseries.

The remainder of your responsibilities will consist of administration duties relating to the clinical commitments of the team, e.g.sending appointment letters and preparation of therapy resources.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, time management and applied IT skills. Experience of working with children and people is essential.

Experience of working in teams is also required as is knowledge of child development and basic therapeutic approaches.

The ability to travel to local clinic bases and/or schools in one session / day is essential to the post.

You would be based with a supportive group of speech and language therapists in Glenwood Health Centre, Glenrothes. This post would provide the opportunity to be involved a range of innovative activities to support children and young people in Fife.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
