**About the opportunity**:
This will be a permanent role supporting the digital side of the business and supporting our newly aquired business Poundshop.

The role entails two core elements:

- Support and challenge performance across the Trading function, whether that is on driving sales and retro income, effectively managing margin rate and stock, or efficiently managing overheads
- Continuous process improvements across reporting, reviewing performance, forecasting and budgeting

**What you'll be doing...**:

- **Support and challenge performance across the digital function, to be achieved through the following**:

- Deliver a robust set of budgets and forecasts by category by week, across sales, margin, intake, write-offs and stock
- Support the introduction of a more lower level P&L by category, incorporating retros, shrinkage / damages, distribution and any significant regulatory or merchandising costs
- Help drive a consistent and challenging monthly and quarterly performance review process with the digital teams to review the monthly P&Ls and WSSIs
- Support the simplification of the forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring we have a robust set of numbers that all stakeholders have bought into
- Regular review of performance through some simple but consistent financial templates
- Support the building of an understanding about what promotional activity does for the business, and what mechanisms work best, where and when
- Develop the digital teams to be more self-sufficient when it comes to analysis and insight, again ensuring consistency across the function
- **Continuous process improvements across reporting, reviewing performance, forecasting and budgeting**:

- Understand the key metrics the business uses and, alongside the Digital Finance colleagues, review whether they are still appropriate and fit for purpose
- Ensure we have consistency across the reporting and performance reviews within Digital.
- Review the current annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes with the Finance Controller and, where appropriate, plan and implement improvements
- Review and challenge the requirements across all facets of the function

- Qualified accountant, ideally CIMA or ACCA, with at least 1 years PQE
- Experience in a multi-site environment essential, Retail sector is preferable
- Proven success in working in a Finance Business Partner role
- Experience of delivering objectives with a good understanding of process.
- Experience of leading teams through significant changes and new ways of working.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strategic thinker who can act independently once briefed
