**Working pattern: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only plus INSET days)**

Ashfield School is renowned for high standards of teaching, behaviour and academic achievement. One of the largest schools in England (2600 on role, including 600 in Post 16), staff work together each day to support, inspire and challenge students to give their best in our safe, happy and ambitious working environment.

Our most recent Ofsted report, published in November 2021, confirms the incredibly positive and inclusive culture across the school. Continual focus on developing this culture enables us to recruit, develop and retain the very best people. Student behaviour is excellent, staff well-being surveys evidence that morale is very high with teachers treated as respected professionals.

Ashfield School is a great place to work and as part of the DFE school re-building project we will move into brand new buildings over the next few years. We are located close to the A38 and M1 and there is a large free staff car park. Facilities across the large school site are excellent with numerous social and workspaces, staff specific catering and sporting facilities all available.

The 650 strong 6th form has an excellent reputation in the local area and recruits students from many local schools. Based in its own purpose-built building on the school site, it is a supportive and positive environment for staff and students alike.

**The role**:
This role will act as a mentor to students in our Post-16 to raise aspirations and achievement. The post holder will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing and reporting on student progress and act a first point of contact with households for students in reference to academic issues. The role will supervise Post-16 study rooms and ensure a positive and productive environment.
