Public Law Lawyer
(40% office attendance)
- Contract Length - 6 months from start date with a 3 month review period

Requirement:
My client provides a friendly and supportive place to work. Their work impacts on the lives of millions. It is often high profile, politically sensitive and at the cutting edge of law. It includes general advisory work, working closely with regulators and othergovernment departments, Bill work and drafting SIsSIs as well as some high-profile litigation.
In the area of pensions, my client cover a wide range of work including state pensions and the implementation of significant reform of occupational pension schemes.
Data protection work includes advising on data sharing and compliance. Fraud work includes advising on the Proceeds of Crime Act and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Benefit procedural work includes advising on the Social Security Act 1998.
The International Team advises my client on access to benefits for EEAEEA and third country nationals, social security co-ordination with the EU and third countries, and international law matters. The team has a wide range of general advisory work, litigationhandling and occasional legislation work.
The Disability, Health and Child Maintenance Team advises DWPDWP on disability and health related benefits, equalitiesequalities law and human rights. It also advises on employment support schemes and measures relating to the most vulnerable customers.
The Universal Credit and Housing Team advises on matters relating to Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, including policy, litigation and devolution. It also considers cost of living issues and Discretionary Housing Payments.

- for one of our teams knowledge of the legal issues surrounding delivery of Housing Benefit and the Housing Costs Element of Universal Credit would be desirable.
