Our client, the UK's leading charity protecting women and children against domestic violence, is currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Refuge Worker to join their dedicated team in Kingston.

As Refuge Worker, you will provide a high quality personal welfare support service to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse including those at the point of crisis. You will empower survivors to make decisions, increase their options, their confidence and their safety, and will work within a multi-agency framework to develop referral, joint working and information sharing protocols. You will ensure that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the Services Manager, and will ensure that survivors are aware of their rights to legal protection for themselves and their children, arranging the provision of legal advice as required and accompanying women to appointments when appropriate.

In the role the key responsibilities will be to support victims of domestic violence and their children by collaborating with them to provide safe accommodation, ensuring that they have access to all options and services while also ensuing that they understand their rights. As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
