Brokerage Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Brokerage Officer on behalf of our public sector client in East London.
The successful applicant will have previous experience brokering packages of care or placements within a local authority. Experience or understanding of purchasing goods or packages of care and support or an understanding of the social care system is essential.
This is an ongoing temporary assignment and is paying £18.04 per hour PAYE or £23.22 per hour Umbrella.
- To broker packages of care or placements
- To be responsible for the commissioning of all services from care and support as identified in the service user's support plan and to meet the service user's preferences
- To ensure that all paperwork is indexed and recorded appropriately and that providers have all of the necessary paperwork relating to the service user
- To utilise in-house and external services via the council's contractual arrangements (e.g., frameworks) to secure specific services that are cost effective, and value for money without compromising quality of care and service. Use of spot purchasing should be used only when frameworks and other contracts cannot be used to meet needs
- To ensure individual placement agreements/contractual paperwork to providers and ensure that is completed and kept appropriately and in a timely fashion
- To maintain a high standard of record keeping on systems, ensuring that all information relating to package costs are accurately recorded
- To maintain supplier information on all systems and providing advice and support to operational teams regarding goods and service requests
- To raise challenge to internal and external stakeholders where there are issues raised regarding the quality of services provided
- To provide administrative support to keeping of records
- To work with Commissioning Managers and Quality Assurance colleagues to enact the results of provider monitoring
