Trainee Dispenser

We are seeking a part time or full time Trainee Dispenser to join our busy, friendly and experienced dispensary team at our Manby and North Somercotes sites.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual who demonstrates excellent communication skills and is able to prioritise workload.

You will have the opportunity to undertake dispensing training to become an NVQ 2 qualified dispenser, GCSE level (or equivalent) Maths and English would be an advantage.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting is not essential as full training will be provided.

**Salary**: Dependent on experience

Hours: 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week

Core hours 08.00 to 18.30

**Duties and responsibilities include**:

- Issue and dispense acute and authorised repeat prescriptions for patients as required.
- Store and monitor drug stocks in accordance with guidelines and re-order as necessary.
- Deal with enquiries from patients regarding medication & liaise with medical personnel regarding these.
- Liaise with other organisations e.g. chemists, drug companies, pharmaceutical wholesalers, to ensure medication is available to patients within the specified time period.
- Keep the dispensary area tidy and dispose of waste drugs through approved channels on a regular basis.
- Maintain full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions for patients.
- Take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins that may be received.
- Work as part of the dispensary team.
- Work safely at all times in accordance with legislative requirements and practice Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
- Maintain confidentiality/data protection in accordance with local and national regulations and policies.
- The practice promotes an ethos of equality, diversity and inclusion which must be respected at all times.
- Participate in mandatory training and audit as required.
