Sighted Guide

First Class Support provides academic support to students in receipt of disabled student allowance (DSA).

The purpose of this role is to support a PGCE student, on a placement in a primary school setting in the Bradford area.

The role will commence 26th February for 7 weeks, more work may become available.

Your role as a Sighted Guide will be to provide practical and mobility support to assist the student manoeuvring around.

This could include carrying books, IT equipment, and other apparatus the student needs for their day to day tasks.

**You will need a transferable DBS.**

**Your Skills**: You will possess experience/understanding of providing support for disabled adults especially visually impaired people and demonstrate a willing to gain thorough knowledge of the campus. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to act independently to benefit the academic experience of the student(s).

We are ideally looking for someone who is educated to Bachelor level, who can demonstrate a bright and enthusiastic demeanour towards academia. No mandatory qualifications or professional body membership is required.

**You will be provided with flexible working patterns, and access to continuous training & development.**

**Please Note**: Due to the nature of the role, our support workers are required to be registered or become registered Self Employed.
