**Account Handler - Commercial**

**Location: Southend, Essex**

**Salary: £Negotiable - dependent on experience**

**Working hours: Monday - Friday 9-5:15pm**

**_This role would suit an insurance broking handler who has found there is nowhere further to go in their current organisation. Have you got a proven insurance broking record and want to now expand or develop further? If so, this role would certainlybe for you. _**

**_Our client is looking to recruit for an experienced Account Handler to join their vibrant, expanding team in their retail insurance section. The ideal person should be enthusiastic and want to develop their skills in the general insurance brokerarea. Our client puts Treating Customers Fairly at the heart of all that we do so you will need to have the same positive attitude and focus._**

**_This exciting job role would involve the development, maintenance, and servicing of both new and existing clients and ensuring that they have the right insurances for their requirements._**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and grow our existing book of insurance business by supporting the Director and able to achieve business in your own capacity
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for existing policyholders
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new clients, insurers and providers
- Handle new business, mid-term adjustments and renewals according to company procedures and practice, referring to team leader, experts or insurers when issues fall outside own experience and knowledge
- Input new business, amendments and renewals on Open GI system to maintain accurate records, keeping hard copy records on customers files where appropriate in accordance with the company’s standard procedures
- Manage own workload in order to effectively service the client relationship and ensure placements are completed within client deadlines
- To be aware of market developments in your business areas and bring them to the attention of clients and colleagues, where appropriate

**Qualifications**
- Cert CII
- Dip CII (or working towards) Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications desirable
- Minimum of C Grade for English & Maths GCSE/equivalent is essential
