SC Senior Delivery Manager - 12 Month Contract - London - Hybrid - £625-£725 Per Day Inside IR35 - ASAP Start
**Your new company**
Our Government client is looking for a Senior (agile) Delivery Manager across a whole range of DDaT specialisms. You'll have good practical understanding of agile and lean principles, have proactively managed dependencies, identified and managed priorities,overcome obstacles and got the best value against constraints.
**Your new role**
You'll join an established programme to ensure the successful delivery of an important, cross-government project from private beta to public beta.
You'll ensure teams have the right environment to deliver the vision, products and services. You'll help teams collaborate, communicate and focus on what is most important. You'll work at the heart of teams to provide direction within a service or portfolio.You're accountable for building, motivating, supporting and facilitating teams as well as removing obstacles and blockers that get in their way.
You'll challenge approaches inside and outside of the team they are working with and facilitate a focus on the outcome. You'll be accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services. You'll coach and mentor more junior deliverymanagers.
**What you'll need to succeed**:
- You can manage difficult stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships across a wide range of both technical and non-technical individuals.
- You can work to tight timelines, and thrive in a busy, Agile environment.
- You are pragmatic, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- You know how to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices. You are a recognised expert that advocates these approaches, continuously reflecting and challenging the team.
- You can mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- You know how to optimise the delivery flow of teams.
- You can identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated.
- You know how to lead a continual planning process in a very complex environment.
- You can identify problems or issues in the team dynamic and rectify them.
Desirable skills and experience
- Understanding of the government digital landscape and the GDS Service Manual
- Previous experience working in a government digital team
- Previous experience managing virtual teams
- Previous experience managing the delivery of a multi-product service, portfolio or programme
- Demonstrable experience of taking responsibility for complex relationships with contracted suppliers and negotiations
