**Outreach Engagement Support Worker**

**Band 5: £28,407 - £34,581**

**37.5 hours per week**

**Locala are looking to recruit a specialist Outreach Engagement Worker to support the Tameside and Stockport Sexual Health Service.**

The postholder will primarily be based in Tameside but will work closely with colleagues in Stockport and be required to cross work when needed.

Locala Sexual Health prides itself on the extensive outreach and prevention provision, which is continuously growing, the postholder will be required alongside colleagues both in the clinical hub and outreach element to identify new populations in need and/or new opportunities for growth.

The postholder will support vulnerable populations and communities to access sexual health education, STI screening, treatment, and contraception.

The postholder will target those most at risk of poor sexual health by understanding the demographics of the area and will support the clinical outreach colleagues in delivering in the community.

The postholder:

- Will be required to co deliver with partner agencies in the community where appropriate, build and maintain positive working relationships with key partners and be expected to work independently on a 1-1 basis or group. Relationship building with partners and service users is paramount in the successful delivery.
- Will be required to travel on a regular basis to and from community settings within the district.
- Is required to be confident in delivering positive key health messages to individuals and groups of young people/ adults and will identify where additional interventions or referrals are required.
- Is required to have experience of working with marginalised groups and will have a high level of experience and knowledge of safeguarding pathways.
