Care Worker Relief

Relief bank workers have complete control over the shifts they work and therefore it is ideal for people with other commitments or someone who wants to try something new. The manager will offer shifts with as much notice as possible, but you might be contactedon an ad-hoc basis when shift cover is needed.
You’ll be part of an established and friendly team, so you’ll have plenty of support at all times.
Whether you’re an experienced carer, or completely new to care, we want to speak to you so we can explain how we are different, and how you can make a difference in people’s lives.
**About the job**:
As a care worker, you will work with the residents closely on a daily basis, assisting them to live their lives to the full. You will assist them with all of their needs (including personal care) according to their wishes. Becoming a friend and having funwith them is one of the most important parts of the role.
Duties will include:
- Ensuring health and wellbeing of residents.
- Providing personal care and emotional support.
- Medication administration.
- Participating in stimulating activities.
- Involving residents in a person centred approach.
**Who are we looking for?**
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.More important are;
- Excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive outlook
- Ability to respond to people’s emotional, psychological, social and spiritual needs
- The confidence to work as part of a team in a sometimes challenging environment, using your own initiative
- The desire to develop skills, undertaking appropriate training courses when offered
**Key information**
There are various day and night shift times
For this role you will require an **Enhanced DBS check**, which we pay for.
To work in this role you will need to be registered with Social Care Wales. If you’re not already we’ll help you do this as part of your recruitment process.
