Residential Project Worker

Willowgrove is a residential service which provides short breaks for children and young people with a diagnosed learning disability, within the Southern Trust area.
The staff team work intensively with young people to help them to develop their independence. We also work with parents so that the work carried out in Willowgrove can also be continued at home and that young people can learn through greater consistency and continuity of care.
The Service operates a rotational rota and hours of duty are determined by that rota. All Residential Project Worker staff work a range of shift patterns - sleep-in shifts, waking night shifts, morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, and public holidays. The Residential Project Worker role involves taking responsibility for all routine day-to-day tasks and requirements with our young people. Some of them need to be manually lifted, fed, and their personal care needs provided for, including the administration of medication and practical tasks e.g. preparation of meals, laundry, and general housekeeping. We also work closely with a range of other professionals involved in the lives of our young people.

This post is advertised as fixed term until 31st March 2024, however there may be a possibility that this will be extended.
**Essential Criteria**
- Demonstrable experience of working with children & young people in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Demonstrable experience of safeguarding and child protection issues and following organisational protocols.
- Full driving license and agreement to drive service vehicles.
**Desirable Criteria**
- Demonstrable experience of working within a residential setting.
- Demonstrable of working with children/young people with a learning disability and/or life limiting condition who may display behaviour's which challenge us.

**Location**: Willowgrove Service, Banbridge
**Hours**: 30 per week (rota, including evenings & weekends)
**Fixed Term: Until 31st March 2024 with possibility of extension**
**Salary**: £23,920 (FTE) _(additional allowance of £62.64 is paid for Sleep-in duty_).
**Closing**: Sunday 11th September at Midnight.
