**About The Role**:

We’ve an exciting opportunity to join the UK’s 2nd largest building society, as a Risk Graduate.

As a graduate within Financial & Enterprise Risk (FER), part of the Society’s Risk Function, you’ll play a pivotal role in the Society’s 2nd line of defence.

Over the two-year programme, you’ll get exposure across the department which will include placements in each of the various teams. The teams, and some of their key responsibilities are highlighted, some of which you would support with:
**Prudential Compliance and Regulatory Liaison - **Lead prudential-related horizon scanning,undertake compliance testing and monitoring activity and manage the Society’s relationship with the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).

**Prudential Risk - **Oversight of key prudential documents including the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP) and the Society’s Recovery and Resolution Plans.

**Enterprise Risk and Risk Strategy - **Oversight of the strategic and financial planning process. Custodian of the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).

**Model Risk and Validation - **Perform validation activity against the Society’s critical model estate, including credit risk models (IRB). Custodian of the Model Risk Framework (MRF) and Model Risk Policy.

**Retail Credit Risk Oversight - **Undertake independent quality assurance of the Society’s mortgage lending portfolio and perform thematic reviews on segments of the portfolio.

FER are a trusted advisor and critical friend to the 1st line of defence. Our key purpose is to facilitate the business making effective risk-based decisions. The various teams are responsible for providing expert judgement, challenge and support to those with responsibility for directly managing the Society’s risks.

As a Risk graduate you will:

- Promote an effective risk culture through the Society
- Assist and support first line colleagues on risk and compliance matters
- Develop a broad understanding of risk management across the Society
- Have the confidence to challenge processes
