What’s on offer?

The Pavement Advisor position is responsible for monitoring asphalt compaction. This position will also perform coring of the asphalt and testing. This position is full time, requires regular travel, night work and weekends through peak season.

You will be responsible for- Communicating with the Site Engineer and Supervisor for daily duty assignments- Work with asphalt paving foreman and roller operators on roller patterns to achieve optimum compaction through use of a Pavement Quality Indicator (PQI)- Troubleshoot, identify, correct and prevent quality control issues- Perform field testing- Quality Control reporting and record keeping- Core asphalt for density testing- Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive- Willingness to perform duties outside normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

What we need from you?

To be successful in this position you will require the following skills/experience;- Have a construction induction card (White Card) - not essential- Possess a strong commitment to safety- Possess a current drivers’ license- Possess strong written and oral communication skills- Basic knowledge with technology- Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules and projects- Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and management- Be available to work overtime, weekends and nights as required- Be available to live and travel away from home as required- Be a strong team player, reliable and hard-working- Ability to work unsupervised- Self-motivated
