**Capital Accountant**

We are working with a **Local Authority in the Southwest** who require the interim assistance of a **Capital Accountant**.

**Location**:South West (Remote)

**Rate**:£400 per day (negotiable)

**Duration**:3-6 months initially with possible extensions

**IR35 Status**:Inside

**Purpose**:

- The council are currently looking to modernise and revamp their fixed asset register and are looking for an interim specialist to aid in the transformation
- To ensure new fixed asset register works in tandem with the soon to be implemented new finance system, as well as routine financial management, additional technical accounting expertise is needed

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Must be experienced in capital accounting so they can work under their own steam with very limited supervision
- To produce exemplary working papers
- Work to the agreed closure timetable
- To produce good process notes for both capital and collection fund so anyone can follow the process
- Complete all capital relative government returns during the contract period
- Qualified CCAB accountant (i.e. a member of the ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
- Local Government or wider public sector experience
- Ideally will be able to use Advanced eFinancials; but will be supported as needs be
- Be available to discuss with auditors any questions/queries raised
