Ship Agent/ Port Agent

**About the Company**:
Armac Shipping Services a leading independent Ship Agency for the Thames and Medway area.

We are offering the opportunity for a trainee or experienced ships agent to join our dedicated and friendly team. They will receive full training as required to become a key member of the team. The agency is responsible for providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on-call service to our principals to ensure the safe and efficient turnaround of their ships. The role will involve managing vessel requirements, booking relevant services and boarding the vessels as required, issuing of all relevant shipping documentation and the performance of any other tasks that relate to the job.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- **Offering a quality-driven agency service to all customers.**
- **Communicating to all relevant parties to ensure most efficient port stay.**
- **Boarding vessels when and where required.**
- **Liaison with clients statutory authorities and port services daily**
- **Ensure that goods/ services are ordered and supplied to the vessels promptly**
- **Accurate recording and reporting of information pertaining to vessel calls.**
- **Ensure both internal and external procedures are followed.**

**Ships Agent/ Trainee Requirements**:

- Eligibility to work in the UK, without sponsorship
- Full, valid, clean driving license
- Experience of the shipping industry would be an advantage, but full training will be given to someone with enthusiasm and clear interest in a career in the shipping industry.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- The ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Effective time-management and the ability to manage own workload
- Competent user of Microsoft Office programs.
