**Job Description**:

- To undertake principal designer duties, as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) regulations 2015 (CDM) and as otherwise required of the role including site visits, preparation of the preconstruction documentation and other associated duties
- Advice and support to clients on the CDM regulations including planned 2015 amendments
- Responsible for managing your own projects - being the key interface between & liaising with the Client Teams, Design Teams, Principal Contractors, and others to deliver projects in line with the Client's remit, programme
- Delivery of health and safety training and workshops/awareness sessions to Clients, project teams and internal audiences.
- Carrying out thorough reviews of site project information and construction drawings, and identification of design, construction and maintenance risks through Design Risk Reviews
- Attending & co-ordinating Design & Project Meetings as required throughout projects (including temporary works review meetings)
- Visiting project sites prior to construction to carry out initial risk appraisals (where required)
- Preparing, co-ordinating and distributing relevant Health & Safety Information to other design & project team members, using company format where required
- Overseeing preparation and production of Pre-Construction Information

**Qualifications**:

- Must have specific experience in carrying out the role of Client CDM Advisor and ideally have Principal Designer project experience
- Working knowledge of contract and commercial issues
- Experience in delivering site inspections
- They will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant H&S / design / engineering / property related discipline, with a NEBOSH certificate as a minimum in H&S, but preferably NEBOSH Diploma and be CMIOSH / CMaPS, or actively working towards it.
- Experience of business development and line management of small teams would be an advantage. They must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be confident in giving presentations in a client facing environment.
- Good interpersonal skills when dealing with clients and other team members.
- They must be literate in everyday IT packages such as Microsoft Office. They must be energetic, self-motivated and self-reliant.
- They must be confident in working on their own initiative and delivering to deadlines.
