**An exciting opportunity has arisen due to service expansion for a Reproductive Technologist to join our laboratory team at Cambridge IVF. This state of the art NHS Fertility Centre offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and clinical treatment services and encompasses the regional diagnostic andrology service for Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area, with capacity for up to 7000 semen analyses per annum.**

**This post will be divided between our Cambridge and Peterborough Laboratories.**

**Cambridge IVF is without doubt one of the most forward thinking Units in the UK and with a commitment to high level research and development. Coupled with our links into existing local research groups, this is a very exciting time to be joining our team.**

**You should possess a First or Second Class Biological Sciences degree. A relevant postgraduate qualification, state registration and laboratory experience are highly desirable, but full training will be provided.**

**You will have the opportunity to work across our Diagnostic Andrology and Clinical Embryology Laboratories to a UKAS accredited standard in accordance with the requirements of ISO15189:2012 and ISO9001:2015 and in accordance with the HFEA Code of Practice for Fertility Centres.**

**The position will require some weekend, Bank Holiday and out of hours work on a rotational basis.**

Main duties of the job

**A committed member of a dedicated team of laboratory Scientists and Technicians. Working to the highest standards of clinical excellence to contribute to our patient focused Clinical Embryology and Diagnostic Andrology laboratory services.**

**You will be responsible for performing diagnostic and clinical laboratory procedures working between our Clinical Embryology and Diagnostic Andrology laboratories on a rotational basis.**

**You will be expected to deal with members of the public in a polite and compassionate manner and to work with precision, accuracy and transparency in everything you do.**

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- 1st or 2:1 undergraduate degree in a Biological Science
- 2:2 plus a higher degree in Reproductive Science

Desirable criteria
- Computer literacy
- HCPC registered

Experience

Essential criteria
- Laboratory experience

Desirable criteria
- Experience of dealing with the public
- Experience in working in a ISO 9001 accredited hospital laboratory or clinic
- Experience working in a diagnostic andrology laboratory
- Experience of performing research and development processes
- Experience of stock control

Knowledge

Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the male and female reproductive systems and the causes of infertility and subfertility
- Knowledge of diagnostic andrology

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Knowledge of relevant best practice guidance
- Knowledge of internal quality assurance
