**Join our Property Services team as a Building Surveyor.**

**The role**
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of **Building Surveyor.**
**Salary**: £35,000 - £43,000 per annum + Company Vehicle and Fuel Card, Phone, Laptop
**Location**: Hybrid (3 days based within our Camden Head Office / 2 days remote) There will also be a requirement to visit site as and when needed.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Carrying out detailed surveys and drawing up specifications for the organisations residential and commercial assets, identifying and resolving property related risks such as legal disrepair, complex cases and managing property reinvestment projects usinga variety of contractor-based procurement models.
- Identifying and resolving property related risks, disrepair cases and complex maintenance cases, putting controls in place, and ensuring those controls are maintained. Carrying out detailed surveys and drawing up specifications of work for One Housing residentialand commercial assets.
- Managing property reinvestment projects using a variety of contractor-based procurement models in One Housing stock.
- Carrying out other professional building surveying duties and offer other technical guidance and support to adjacent owners, developers and across all departments of One Housing.
- Produce detailed specification and tender documents for repairs, planned improvement and corrective works in line with current regulations and legislation.
- Procure works contracts to achieve best value, efficiency, and best practice in line with One Housing’s tendering procedures.

**What you will need to succeed**
We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who demonstrates a friendly, positive demeanour.
- Possess previous experience in a similar role.
- Have knowledge of asset management databases.
- A good track record of staff management and development
- Be an effective communicator with strong customer focus and an ability to negotiate with contractors, both Construction Industry Scheme operatives and traditional contracting organisations plus framework contractors in a resolute and fair manner.
- Have the ability to respond constructively to conflicting demands and pressures, and changes in priority or interruptions from colleagues, stakeholders, the general public and management.
- Possess a HNC in Construction, HND in Construction and Property or a building topic-based Degree or other property focussed industry recognised qualification.
